Why take the ACT or SAT?
The ACT and SAT are assessments used to test a students knowledge in core subject areas. These scores are used for acceptance to a college, scholarships and allows colleges to place you in appropriate courses.
When should I take the test?
It is recommended that students take the ACT or SAT at the end of their Junior year. This gives you an opportunity to experience the format of the test, what it is like to take a timed test and what to focus on studying for the next time you take it at the beginning of your senior year.

Which test should I take?
Most colleges do not have a preference in test, however, you should check your preferred college admissions requirements to be sure. Here is a great article to help you pick which test is best for you. CLICK HERE
Do I qualify for a fee waiver?
Fee waivers are available for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch (FARM). Students may use a maximum of two ACT and two SAT fee waivers. Application fee waivers are also available to students applying to out of state colleges. Students must have FARM eligibility information updated with CA. Contact Enrollment at 800-330-4636 if you did not provide FARM eligibility information upon enrollment at NMCA.
You must complete the 2023-2024 Family Income Information DV, for qualification determination.
* Contact your grade level counselor to request a fee waiver AFTER the information is on file.
